He seems to be out of touch with the psyche of the late millennials and Gen Z.

With someone like Carlo, who always talks about players being humans first, it won't matter as much. But a Theory X kind of style that brought Jose all the accolades, I don't think he can switch to being a mentor, an inspirational empath for the players of today.

Pep has a similar style, which is why his teams burn down faster despite spending loads of money. The other difference is Pep's adherence to total, attacking football. He can get away with it. Jose built his great teams on defense. Apart from Simeone, few managers today can succeed with such a style.
