Chelsea players are painfully aware that they have more power than the manager, because they've had more managers than hot dinners.

It seems like if a few of them don't fancy it, the manager gets zero effort and they go downhill.

Chelsea is such an enigma club. Either walk the league or crash and burn. Little in-between.

Can we please have Mou III?

Just seen the Aguero hat trick.

Its his third hat trick of the season iirc

9 goals in 3 games. Which means just 8 goals in 20+ games in others I think. No idea how many hes actually played.

Pretty much what ive been saying about him all the time. Pads his stats in a glut of games but goes missing far too often in others. Hes been in my draft side all season and hes a very frustrating striker

Until recently he hadn't scored an away goal in England for over a year but that's never mentioned

Never rated him highly and hes nowhere near the top strikers this league has had but he is a decent striker no doubt and his reaction to being demoted to 2nd best Argentinian striker in the league after Higuains arrival has been top class

Just what are you on about?

Aguero is the best striker in the EPL bar none ... pick any meaningful statistic and he's at the top ...

Golden Boot - Joint Top on 17
Minutes per Goal - Top by a long way on 99 minutes (nobody else is less than 130 minutes)
Goals per season he averages just under 30 nobody with five seasons or more gets even close, over his 8 EPL seasons he's going to be even better than Henry ... Henry 8 seasons 254 games 174 goals ... Aguero 7 seasons 229 games 160 goals

Higuain 75 games 31 goals .... Aguero 89 games 39 goals ... so who's Argentina's number one striker?

and yet you say "goes missing far too often" and call him "decent" ... wow, do you base your opinions on anything that's remotely factual?

Saw this comment on Reddit, paraphrasing:

Aguero missed a sitter yesterday because he saw Higuian on the pitch and for one moment he thought he was playing for Argentina. :rofll:

347 goals in 612 games at club level
39 goals in 89 games at International level

He must be bloody good at 'padding his stats' he's been doing it for 15 years .... he only scores against the small teams ... oh wait a minute

v Spurs 10 games - 10 goals
v Utd 8 games - 7 goals
v Chelsea 9 games - 6 goals
v Dippers 8 games 4 goals
v Arsenal 8 games 4 goals

So against the top 5 he's played 43 games and scored 31 goals .... wish our players could pad their stats like that ....

You're moving the goalposts. Cripps never said anything about Aguero only scoring against small clubs, only that he scores in bunches and then goes MIA more often than not.

But that's just not true ... look at his stats above against the top five and nearly all those goals came in singles ... he's scored in more individual matches against top five opponents than anyone now playing ... how is that scoring in bunches?

Sure he has 11 hat-tricks but that's just 33 goals out of over 300 ... all the great strikers get hat-tricks Shearer 11, Henry 8, Kane 8, Rooney 8, Owen 8 were they all MIA the rest of the time as well? To argue that a player who scores a lot of goals in one game is somehow bad? how does that make any kind of sense?

Just to show how wide of the mark that statement is anyway ... look at this season to date

Aguero has made 21 EPL appearances and scored in 14 of them 67%
Kane also 21 EPL appearances and scored in 13 of them 62%
Salah 25 EPL appearances and scored in 14 of them 56%
Auba 23 EPL appearances and scored in 12 of them 52%

If Aguero is MIA padding his numbers by scoring in bunches, then the rest of them must all be feckin' deserters ... or just maybe Cripps got his numbers all wrong?

Yup. Really not that difficult to understand.

Just checked. Scored in 3 away games this season. Went from November 2017 to December 2018 without scoring an away goal in England. In that team. With those players. Dear god.

Very good striker. But there's a reason why he's never been voted in the team of the year and he's never won the golden boot has he?

He'll score like 15 goals in 5 separate games during the course of a season. Then 5 in the remaining 20 odd games. That's his 20 goals a season. That's what he's doing now. 9 in 3 games. Only 8 in others.

Guess you didn't read the actual statistics .... he's scored in 14 of 21 that means he's scored in 67% of the games he's played .... it's not hard to look up, just making up stuff "15 goals in 5 separate games during the course of a season. Then 5 in the remaining 20 odd games" who does that?

and he won the Golden Boot in 2014/15 in case you missed that season ....

Aguero has made 21 EPL appearances and scored in 14 of them 67%
Kane also 21 EPL appearances and scored in 13 of them 62%
Salah 25 EPL appearances and scored in 14 of them 56%

Aguero is an asset to have in any team. He creates just as much as he scores and even his presence in the line up creates danger.

He gives licence to the wide players to get in behind or to shoot etc. So I personally wouldn't look just at his goalscoring.

Also, his average goals per season stats are skewed because hes injured a lot. That he got that many goals despite all the injuries is testament of his ability.

Aguero is sick and probably the best pound for pound striker in the league bar Kane imo. If he were the same age and minus injuries, I'd pick him over anyone in the league.
