Mate, that’s so irrelevant this season.
They are smashing everyone about and are breaking records left, right and centre.
No one is close to them
Liverpool say hi
Do they?
Tell them to say it louder because there’s 21 points between them. Can’t hear them that well
So pep has lost 3 times running to a team that isn't close to them, shocking stuff
You’re missing the point. They are 21 points ahead of them. Lol
They weren't close to them at the begining of the season for sure, I assumed we were talking about now, they are in a cl final and have best them 3 games running.
So by your logic we were close to Chelsea’s title winning side last season because we beat them twice and they beat us once.
Correct?
The first game that we beat Chelsea was very early in the season, the other the last game, with Liverpool they have beaten city 3 times in very quick succession and destroyed them tbh.
Bare in mind Liverpool didn't have van dijk first half of the season, his signing has helped them close the gap.
You are getting confused in thinking I think liverpool are as good or better, city are better but to say the CL finalists and potential winners aren't close to a team they destroyed 3 times recently and 2 of them in the biggest competition doesn't seem right.
City never got destroyed in every game.
The first game at Anfield this season they were very error prone. City were comfortably the better side up until the 60th minute then they got hit hard. They almost got a draw out of that game.
The first leg on the CL. Yeah, fair play. Liverpool overturned City completely. I think Pep was very naive in that game thinking he could go to Anfield and play Liverpool off the park again. I'm pretty sure he would of learnt a big lesson from that game and will go to Liverpool next season with a different approach.
In the second leg City should of gone in at half time 2-0 up. They didn't because of a howler from the ref. Liverpool scored and the tie was pretty much over and Liverpool nicked it. Again, they didn't get destroyed.
If anything Liverpool have been City's bogey side this season. I think Klopp has surprised Pep quite a bit. Can't see it happening again next season though. Pep will have a new plan to counter Liverpools press.
Regardless of Liverpool potentially reaching the final soon I don't think anyone - including Liverpool - will get close to City again next season
