They are Cesc, RvP and Ade.
I pray they are fit and free of suspension come knockout stage.

Problem is mate, the rest of the team are either average, young or inconsistent.

These are bad times :(

Who's the idiot on Five Live who keeps calling Bendtner - Bednar??? :dizzy:

There's not a game goes by when a commentator on Five Live mispronounces a name, how much are they paid? Too bloody much! :snooty:

Well, in terms of the PL we're not ready. Inconsistency is handicapping us. Next season we'll mount a stronger challenge. That I can accept.
The CL requires less consistency but more the ability to rise to the occasion. At home we can beat anyone. Away, we must be at our peak and with our best players. Otherwise it's curtains.
Ps. Couldn't really give a sh*t about the FA Cup.

Fair comments mate, although I don't want to end up like Spurs, with their "next season is our season" mantra

Game over, Porto played excellently tonight.

Eboue got a standing ovation, only player to throw his shirt into the crowd.

Can't really name and shame anyone, everyone played badly, although Gibbs and Wilshere played superbly, i wish they had started.

i dont mind so much about this one, just to get it over with it was second string side, yeh there wasnt any fight but i dont feel worried i feel we can come up with a great performance as with AC last season.

did eboue really get a standing ovation? i missed most the second half as i cudnt get any stream or audio working smooth so gave up and followed on here.

At the end of the day, it could have been worse, it wasn't!

At the end of the day we are through anyway. It could have been worse, it wasn't!

We might face a big name next round. But winning the group would have meant facing a big name too. It could have been worse, it wasn't!

Ok, a poor performance, a makeshift team, we should have done better, the players know it, we know it, but it could have been worse. It wasn't!

Chalk this one up as "it didn't really matter" and move on. I've said it before, whether we meet Barca et al next round or the round after, we still have to play them. If we don't beat them, we don't win it! It's as simple as that.

We also have to remember that there is no such thing as an easy draw in this competition, so whoever we get next round means a more difficult opponent next time.

End of the day, we are there, Middlesex never even got into it.

Move on, let's concentrate on Middlesbrough.

If you can avoid a team like Barca then there is the possibility that another team can put them out.

Come on guys, the deflecting statements and calls for calm are wearing a bit thin now.

Yes, we were already through

Yes, it was a squad side

Yes, etc, etc, etc

But don't you think these continual poor performances are some cause for concern?

I damn well do! :snooty:

The team was such a long way from being at full strength that I'm not too bothered by the defeat, it's the consequences of the defeat that could matter a lot.

Well let's hope there are changes in personnel and attitude for Boro away. Our record isn't great up there.
Let's hope this impotent display doesn't feed into the weekend.
I don't know what our form is like after we come back from CL duty but I vaguely recall someone saying it wasn't too clever.
