Wenger to make late calls on defensive duo

Arsène Wenger will leave decisions over the fitness of Mikael Silvestre and Kieran Gibbs to the morning of the Champions League Semi-Final first leg with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The veteran French centre back picked up a back injury in the 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on Sunday while the 19-year-old left back has been carrying a groin problem for a few games.

The Arsenal manager has the option of Johan Djourou at centre back and, if fit, Silvestre could cover the absence of Gibbs. But, whatever happens, it will be a late call.

“We’ll make those decisions in the morning,” said Wenger. “Silvestre will have an assessment. He has a back injury and we have a slight problem with Gibbs as well.”

Talk about tempting fate!

OH MY GOD I can't believe he is actually having the cheek to be confident in the build up to the first part of the biggest game of our season!

Him saying that is good, shows lots of confidence which is exactly what we need, it's not tempting fate in any which way.

Well said ADS. f**k giving the mancs imaginary incentives to beat us, I like Ade saying that. We need to go into the game KNOWING we are going to win.

Dont think Gibbs will play. We're having real problems in the back.
Wenger please go away

The obvious choice would be Nasri, but expect to see Diaby or something. haha.

What I think we'll see:

----------Adebayor
----Diaby-Fabregas-Walcott
--------Nasri - Song
Gibbs - Toure - Djourou - Sagna
-----------Almunia

Fabianski, Silvestre?, Eboue, Denilson, Vela, Eduardo, Bendtner.

Hey mite: I hate the mancs, that's a fact!!But please, get back to earth, and look at what they won for the past few years!!

I will be very pleased if we score at least one goal tonight, because scoring away is so important!!
:frogwink:

And I will be very pleased, too,if we don't take 3 or 4 goals...see what happened saturday ?? Even if we are far better than the "scums",it's pretty hard to resist when they play like this, that's a fact and you KNOW it!! :frogwink:

Anyway, let's see what we can do tonight and the result of the game, then we will see what chances we have to reach the final!! :arsenal3:

Jen woke up in the middle of the night feeling all positive and that. When she gets like that she gives off good energy apparently. Last time she felt like this we smacked Villarreal 3-0.

So I'm now nerveless and also feeling rather positive.
