Ashes 2013

Postby Reverend Gooner » Sat Jul 06, 2013 6:42 pm

So this is the first time for decades where England go into the ashes as odds on favourites.

Will we see it through for an amazing 3 ashes out of 4? or will we fold under the pressure of being at home and favourites and throw it away? Or will we play great but still lose to a class Aussies who excel with a point to prove?

I am excited about it either way and hope to watch every day of every test. Anyone else eagerly awaiting this one?

I'm going to try as much as possible too. England really should thrash them, I don't rate the current Australia side at all.

Missed this thread. I was wondering why nobody had posted yet.

Just watched the highlights of the fourth test in 2005. :D

Apparently these are back-to-back Ashes series, right? never heard of that one before

Wow, Test cricket really is feeling the pressure from T20!

It's because it keeps getting held straight after the World Cup so they have moved it forward as a one off to stop it happening.

Okay I see, the Aussie series is always held just after the WC: 1990–91, 1994–95, 1998–99, 2002–03, 2006-07and 2010-11.
But, they never had a problem getting the crowds in. Weren't they always a sellout? :dontknow:

Guessing they just want to break up the biggest events a bit more or something.

98-2 at lunch.

I rate England should walk it, but who knows with Mickey being sacked and an Aussie being instated that may give them a little extra.

53-4.

The Convicts really thought they were onto something with that 215, England have brought them back down to earth!
