Good grief, just seen these on Auntie Beeb:

Let's have a look at these magic numbers. England's 710 is their third highest Test total in history. Cook's 294 is the sixth highest score by an English Test batsman. He faced 545 balls, hit 33 fours and batted for 13 hours and 23 minutes. Oh yes - and England lead by 486, the fourth-biggest first innings lead ever. Gulp.

Amazing!

Yeah, be interesting to see how we get on over in Sri Lanka.

I must congratulate a very unmentioned player in that first innings. With a knock of 63, Extras should take a bow.

So, 4 down already, 71/4 and we can even afford to drop catches.

Tendulkar for a half century? Decent way to bow at as No 1 I suppose.

Oh my word! Tendulkar with the cruellest run out, he was really on a run spree too.

To be honest it is best he doesn't get his 100 in such a lost game as this, the series is gone now but they can start playing for pride in the next match.

True. I'd still like to see him do it on this tour.

Just been watching that replay again, and it's just so desperately unlucky (or lucky depending on how you view it) The merest hint of a fingertip and a fraction of an inch short trying to save himself. Unbelievable!

So, lunch - India trail by 370 with only 4 wickets left.

England officially the best team in the world. I am immensely proud of the lads, what an amazing achievement and the genuine golden generation.

Well pleased with that.

And rounded off with an innings win.

Sachin on course for that century, he's even been dropped, the luck is with him.

Massive applause from the crowd if he makes it.

Mishra has gone! 262/4

Tendulkar still on for the ton though, dropped again a couple of overs ago.
