Proper but because of Somersets amazing win over the Deccan Chargers and Trinidad and Tobago's amazing win against the Deccan Chargers today (2 of the best 20/20 games i have seen) Somerset are through to the next stage by the skin of their teeth.

I hope Trinidad win it as their batting line is beefy all the way down, proper fierce.

I only saw a bit of the Sussex games. Good to see one of the English teams got through but, I get the feeling every other nation is far ahead of English teams in 20/20. Maybe I'm wrong? :dontknow:

It's the attitude, we are the least aggressive cricket nation and it costs us in 20/20. Both with the England national team and our teams out there it is like they never look 100% sure of themselves.

Other nations have this "f**k it lets do what has to be done" and tonk it if they need to, win or lose. We have a "should we, shouldn't we.... are you sure?" kind of attitude and it is not what you need for the short game.

Even in one dayers the English style is to half play it like a test or when we do go for it we collapse because we are not used to going all out for runs. This attitude is all well and good for test cricket and that is why we are one of the very best test cricket nations but for the short game it is not what we need.

Disregard the awful one day show against the Aussies after the ashes (which we shouldn't forget we did to the aussies after they won the ashes) we have shown mild improvement in the one day game over the last 3 years but we are still the weakest short game nation. I won't even talk about 20/20 because as you say we are so far behind it is not worth mentioning.

I don't think England will come close to winning anything 20/20 for a good many years. Even our clubs have the same attitudes and though we can bowl up there with the best our batting level is not on par.

I dunno, maybe i am being harsh but that is how is see it. Man i wish Chris Gayle was English.........

Just looking back at Rev's post, England/English teams have had this problem too long. The whole point of 20/20 is to go for it. Dot balls aren't going to win matches.

We have a lot to learn from the Australians and South Africans who have taken to the game like a duck to water.

It seems to me that only Kevin Pietersen and Freddie have grasped the concept of piling up quick runs.

Trinidad and tobago are going crazy, fastest 50 of the tournament for no wickets.

OMG: 213-4 in 20 overs

Outstanding
