Could be very interesting.

As in, two openers, 3, 4, 5 bat, all rounder, keeper, spinner and three strike bowlers?

2 allrounders as Botham and Flintoff need to be in there and England don't have all that many stand out great quick bowlers tbh.

I nominate Jack Hobbs and Herbert Sutcliffe as the openers. You may want to go with more recent players but Hobbs and Sutcliffe were, by a long way, the best opening partnership that England have ever had.

When you start to write a list out you'll be suprised by how many good pace bowlers England had over the years.

Perhaps (although i was looking at players post 1960's - as i've mentioned before due to professionalism/fitness/technique/new deliveries etc i think modern players are better). You're right if i look further back we've got the likes of Trueman, tyson etc.

I'd still have Flintoff and Botham in the side though, they'd be a great pairing and of course it allows us to have very deep batting with still strong bowling. I'm all about a great balance to the side
