How many remember "Ian Wright Wright Wright" peeling away a goal early and pulling the shirt over his head when actually it was goal 178? Given the atmosphere that day, it was hardly surprising that he got it wrong, but "God" as I refereed to him at the time went on to complete the record a few minutes later. Cliff Bastin's record was beaten, by the great man. Of course, Thierry Henry would break that record again a few years later, but Wrighty had rewritten history.
