But he's a second striker/wing forward, not a #9!

Exactly what we need for Artetas system, a natural false 9 type that can hit a barn door, unlike Laca and Eddie who are not natural at it and are struggling with 3 goals between them the entire season.

Lautaro is superb but looked extremely selfish against Liverpool in the UCL.

Has he ever played as a false 9 or main striker?

One could argue Lautaro is at his best in a two-striker formation, but he's absolutely not a wing forward. Based on data from Transfermarkt he has only played on the wing twice in his career.

For Argentina, yes. At club level, rarely.

Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are vying for the signature of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez - according to Calciomercato.

The 24-year-old signed a new contract at San Siro until 2026 last October, but the Italian champions will let him go if they receive an offer of €70 million (£58m/$77m) or more this summer.

Arsenal have made an initial call to Martinez's agent, but Atletico have also expressed their interest and the two clubs could compete for his services when the transfer market reopens.

Press is predictably casting a wide net of rumours. Haven't seen anything to indicate that Inter needs to sell. Alexis Sanchez is off at the end of the season so they'll need to buy if anything.

Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in Lautaro Martinez but Inter Milan will only sell the Argentina striker, 24, if they receive a bid of more than 80m euros (£67.3m). (Calciomercato - in Italian)

Hes the highest profile out of the ones we have been linked with (ignoring Haaland links because that will never happen) plus hes got a much better goal return than Isak, DCL etc plus has been scoring in the UCL, so he should be priority if Inter are open to selling.

£70m+ for Isak is a joke if we can get this guy for £67m

The Times: Arsenal have renewed their interest in signing Lautaro Martínez this summer, bolstered by their improved chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta plans to bring in two strikers and the Inter Milan forward, 24, is on a list that also includes Gabriel Jesus, of Manchester City, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, of Everton. Arteta’s side are fourth in the Premier League after beating West Ham United on Sunday, two points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth, with the rivals for the final Champions League spot set to meet in the coming weeks.
