As a squad player behind Laca and and Auba and plan B from the bench he'd not be a bad signing. As a direct replacement for Laca he's not good enough.

I actually really like Tammy Abraham, I think he's a good young striker, miles above Eddie in terms of movement and finishing. That said, Tuchel benched him for Werner and Havertz and is now trying to get Haaland or Lewandowski. So it's curtains for him at Stamford Bridge.

He has 2 years left on his deal, so all the leverage should be with the purchasing club. Exact same situation we are in with Willock and Saliba. Clubs are taking the piss with their 'offers' for them.

So why would we, in the same situation, entertain an expensive loan + buy deal for him?

Again, if the price is right, I wouldn't mind him. Good replacement for Lacazette, similar output in terms of goals and Tammy has actually scored more Prem goals in a season that Lacazette ever has. Room for growth. As long as we don't get shafted on the price, I don't mind and I think he may be able to play the solo striker role.

Arsenal will not be offering a new contract to 30-year-old French striker Alex Lacazette and are inviting bids of about £15m for their former record signing to help fund a move for 23-year-old Chelsea and England forward Tammy Abraham. (Sun)

We'd all rather spend £50m on Varane than Ben White as well. But this is closer to the caliber of player Arteta can attract.

Varane? Are you sure?
Getting older and looked absolutely sh*t at the Euro's
I am sure he's ranked highly in FM and Fifa, though.

Varane is 28. We are all getting older.

Over Abraham, yes :hiding:

In before 'yes, but resale value'.

This is they type of signing we would have made back in Wenger a day, Eduardo type in the sense that he’s older but playing in an average league/good league average side

I wouldn’t mind it with good scouting it can save us so much money we’ve wasted millions on overpriced players in the last few years, someone like this would be low risk and wouldn’t get in the way of Baloguns development because of age.

Eduardo, Michu, Demba Ba, Cisse, Suarez, Adebayor the list goes on my point is when these players were signed for their clubs no one expected much from them beachside they weren’t young wonder kids, big money signings, played in average leagues/good leagues but small sides.

Theirs certainly someone better than Abraham out there for less than 40M
