Genk sensation Paul Onuachu encourages Arsenal offer

Genk sensation Paul Onuachu admits he has ambitions of playing for Arsenal.

The 26 year-old striker has scored a stunning 29 goals in 33 games for Genk this season. The Nigeria international joined Genk in 2019 from Denmark's FC Midtjylland and has caught fire this season in the Jupiler League.

Onuachu is well aware of the interest and press his form is now attracting and has confessed an ambition to play in England - and for Arsenal - in the future. Standing at 6ft 7in, Onuachu admits there's two great African centre-forwards he models his game on - and both enjoyed success in the Arsenal shirt.

He told Sporza via Bold: "I really like Arsenal.

"(Emmanuel) Adebayor is one of the players I have admired the most. I was a really big fan of him and (Nwankwo) Kanu. I really love watching Arsenal."

Onuachu is contracted to Genk until 2024. He has been in Europe since 2012, when FC Midtjylland first brought him to Europe after being impressed by his form with their affiliate team in Nigeria, Ebedei.

While his contract still has three years to run, Genk are prepared to sell for €20m this summer.

All that enthusiasm and energy, and getting into the box, we'll soon knock that out of him. Doubt if he'll get that kind of service up front from out team. Negative and a cynical? moi?

Genk striker Paul Onuachu wants to move to Arsenal, claims Voetbal Belgie.

The Nigerian has attracted plenty of transfer attention after scoring 32 goals in 37 matches this season.

Genk could make a major profit on Onuachu, who joined for €6 million from Midtjylland in 2019 and could now be sold for at least five times that amount.

Arsenal are one of the clubs keeping a close eye on Genk striker Paul Onuachu, claims Corriere dello Sport.

The Nigerian frontman has hit 39 goals in 45 Jupiler League games, with Aston Villa another Premier League side to be monitoring his progress.

Last season he's scored 33 league goals, which is the highest goal tally since the 1979-80 season.

Having said that, Onuachu turns 28 in May and has no top 5 league experience. Genk's asking price is €30m, and if he were to flop, his resale value would look pale in comparison.

As back up, plan B off the bench, yes please.

If Auba is staying and Laca is off then this makes sense.
