Yaya Toure

Postby Trina » Tue Jan 13, 2009 3:54 pm

Barcelona star Yaya Toure will not leave Camp Nou in January but could consider his future in the summer, according to the midfielder's agent.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City over recent weeks as both sides look for strength and experience in the centre of midfield.

Toure, who joined Barcelona from Monaco in 2007, has previously admitted that he is flattered by the interest but has constantly stated that he does not want to leave the Catalan side.

His agent, Dimitri Seluk, has reiterated that Toure will not be heading for a new club in the winter transfer window but has hinted that 25-year-old could be tempted elsewhere at the end of the season.
Salary

Seluk told Radio Rac: "My player will stay at Barcelona. He won't move to another club in January.

"He loves the club and wants to stay for the foreseeable future. But he has many offers and in June the club might not refuse one of the offers."

And Seluk added when speaking to skysports.com that an increased salary could sway Toure.

"My agent is playing at the top level at the moment. He is on the same salary as when he was at Monaco," said Seluk.

"There are many clubs who are willing to pay him more, so we will see at the end of the season

Makes sense, why would you want to leave in the middle of a season where you are probably going to win the league and the Champions League.

Agent promotion for sure.

But, if we get rid of Kolo or he feels otherwise mistreated - I don't see Yaya coming.

We aint getting rid of Kolo but we aint getting Yaya either.
I can never imagine Yaya wanting to play for us despite his brother being here.
He'll be paid more at Barca and it's a bigger club with better chances of silverware.
Barca would probably want silly money for him anyway.

I hope not, but he was unsettled enough to put in a transfer request. We all know that Wenger does not hang onto people that want to leave.

Perhaps a back line redux this summer will send Gallas on his way, making Kolo more comfortable.

And I agree that Yaya rumors are pretty unfounded, but if we had any chance, his brother's opinion would certainly play a role.

The News Of The World wrote:ARSENE WENGER’S long chase for Kolo Toure’s brother Yaya is set to reach a happy conclusion for Arsenal.

Barcelona's defensive midfield ace, 25, is heading for The Emirates in the summer. The fee for the Ivory Coast player is thought to have been agreed at around £12million.

His arrival will solve a long-standing problem for Gunners boss Wenger as well as bringing great delight to the two brothers.

Yaya, who had a trial with Arsenal at the start of the 2005 season, has admitted in the past: “It would be great to play in the Premier League and to team up with my brother would be just fantastic.”

It would be good but it's been talked about so many times, it seems like one of those proposed deals that is destined never to happen. If an increase in salary is going to be the deal-clincher then we all know that he won't be rocking up at the Emirates.

We don't need yaya , altough his name is perfect for a great chant.
Anyways, we don't really play with defensive midfielders and by the summer Cesc will be back and maybe even Rosicky.Yaya wouldn't be happy here.
