We've paid over the odds wages-wise before. But i see your point, even Ben White's wages had to be bumped 4x for him to join us.

He’ll have one year left on his deal in summer. They don’t have a chance of getting anywhere near that amount. 30 mil should break their resolve.

Think we’d have to pay the full asking price since other clubs will want him as well. I dont think Id pay 70m for him though. Id rather get Isak for that money.

Its going to look especially dumb when Haaland goes for 75m in the same window.

The player has to want to come too.

I do agree, though, that Vlahovic would be better for us at say £40m....if he has only one year left on his contract.

Would be a massive statement of intent to sign one of the most sought after young talents out there. Not quite the unrealistic Haaland level, but certainly right up there. Fits the profile of young and 'on the up' with the rest of our recent signings.
