Bissouma is too limited, Xhaka needs to be sold.

I'd keep Luiz and Willian as squad players and offer them player/coaching roles. With young CBs Luiz might be needed. I'd also promote Azeez and Balogun as back up.

Out
Chambers
Holding
Elneny
Torreira
Xhaka
Willock
Nelson
Nketiah

In
Kossounou
Bertrand (season loan if possible)
Bissouma
Soumare
Odegaard (extend loan for next season)
Edouard

Key points

— This wish list is formed under the presumption that we have no European football next season, so are therefore we are heavily reliant on player sale income in order to spend, and that we do not need as large a squad as we do now due to less games in 2021/22.
— Some priority is given to signing homegrown players (e.g. Aarons, Mitchell) as a number of our existing homegrown talent is up for sale (e.g. Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, Nketiah, Chambers).
— I've also assumed in this scenario certain conditions such as Willian not wanting to leave/ Arteta not wanting to sell, a new contract for Balogun to be agreed, and Saliba to be integrated into the squad in place of David Luiz.
— All players with one year left on their contract are to be sold, including Lacazette, Nketiah, and Guendouzi.

I'd be delighted with either.

^ I like it, would only sell Willock as well as I don't think he will make it as an Arsenal player.

Buy a young unknown player a la Guendouzi instead or Cottrell or Smith could make the jump into the first team instead.

I'd be fine selling Willock but I'm expecting a lot of churn in the midfield this summer anyway—Ceballos, Guendouzi, Torreira, Elneny.

Yes, as none of them are good enough for different reasons.
I think selling all of them plus Willock makes sense. The central midfield has been one of our weakest areas for about 5 years (since Santi and Coq) and we need some fresh blood there helping Partey to dominate it again.

Would not mind Callums squad but I have one issue with it. Relying on Aubameyang as the first choice striker next season would be a mistake IMO. I haven’t seen Edouard yet but if he isn’t better than Aubameyang in the striker role, then I’d look to invest in someone who is.

Would have given the spot to Martinelli but his recent injury record has me concerned

EDIT: I would also terminate Willians contract if I could and, instead of sending Nelson out on loan, keep him. Any loss from ending Willians contract early would be worth more than the temptation Arteta will have to play Willian whenever he’s available for a game

I think between Aubameyang and Edouard we'd have two very good striking options next season. The former is our captain and most potent goal threat, so I've no issues labelling him as first choice for now in this scenario.

Missed this post. I repeat: if Edouard is not ready to come in and bench Auba, then we need better. Auba as another option, sure. But to rely on him in the ST position, no thanks. not for me
