Yeh second in the most competitive league in the world is a 'truly awful season', didnt we win the fa cup as well? didnt we thrash the winners home and away and lead the table for 70% of the season? so what was it? a few points from a double type of truly awful season

We got more points last season than 15/16 and ended up 5th

I'd take Mahrez over PEA tbh, they'd cost about the same, Mahrez has resale value whereas PEA probably wouldn't due to his age and Mahrez has proven he can perform in this league.

We just spent big on Lacca in the summer bringing in another top CF could destroy his confidence, whereas bringing in a top player like Mahrez to play alongside him could help him find his ground.

We should make a cheeky bid for Alderweireld that 25M release clause could easily work in our favour considering he's only on 70K a week and we could easily afford to double that considering our recent sales and that fact that Mertesacker will be gone at the end of the season.

It's a win win for everyone aside from Spurs lol, we get a world class defender for peanuts and he gets a massive wage increase, I'm recent years we've seen plenty of players leave us for city/united who've been motivated by money so who's to say Toby's not the same.
