Neither are remotely realistic targets.

Neither player has done anything to suggest he eclipses the ability of the other tbh. :dontknow:

I still think we are lacking a true winger that dribble.

Considering Roma's financial situation and the fact that he has a £32m release clause, I can't believe this man-devouring ogre hasn't been snapped up yet.

So true.
If we could get both Torreira and Banega, we should sell all of Xhaka, Ramsey, Iwobi and Welbeck and use the fund to get a world class winger.

Cos he’s a money grabbing prick

Think he’d average as well tbh, shades of Mustafi

I struggle to understand the Mustafi comparison.

Mustafi cost a similar fee and all he has proven is to be a weak, physically and mentally. Don't think I've ever seen a center back who seems to hate his job as much as Mustafi does;

- The tendency to runs of crying to the referee after losing yet another duel
- The habit of blaming teammates for his own clangers
- The awful body language when we're trailing and the pressure is on

The lack of responsibility and accountability from his side has been infuriating. All we can do is hope his form/attitude stemmed from Wenger's approach - or lack thereof.

Manolas is the pole opposite, dude's far more mobile, physically imposing and absolutely loves to defend. It's no coincidence he's widely domestically regarded as the best man v man defender in Italy over the last year or 3.

The only thing Mustafi has on Manolas is that he's better on the ball, albeit not as good as he thinks he is when he tries to ping Pirlo-esque balls which fail 8 out 10 attempts.

Additionally, the money-grabber narrative is wild, baseless speculation tbh - straight from the gutter tier of journalism.

Here's a quote from Manolas's agent -
"A move to China? We are talking about excessive offers. The figures being touted are stunning but Kostas has the option to play at the highest level and I would say China does not suit his ambitions. "
