Short term contract 1-2 years, cheap wages compared to Kola and it gives Joel Lopez a chance to learn on loan a make mistakes elsewhere for a year or two

Fair enough if you never rated Gibbs at Arsenal it’s your opinion, for me personally he was always solid defensively, the only time he ever got properly destroyed was by CR7 when Gibbs was a kid which is understandable, every left back bar Cole was getting destroyed but CR7 back in the day.

Also who can forget his heroics in the FA cup final with that goal line clearance when were 2-0 against hull already, or the last minute tackle against West Brom which secured us top 4

As for West Brom they’re just terrible even Van Dijk would look bad in that team lol

Giving Lopez a chance if he is ready makes more sense but if he isn't and you want an experienced back up LB (like Cedric is for RB) then Gibbs isn't a bad shout.

And I liked Gibbs. Big reason why we won the cup in 2014. His clearance stopped it going 3-0 and Ramsey's heroics to win it for us doesn't happen

Good thing is that we're all in agreement about the main things we need. The CB position could be sorted by Saliba's return, we need a RB, a back up LB a midfield partner for Partey and a centre forward.
