Plus points : experienced, homegrown

Minus points: 31 years old, his last big contract and could do a Willian

Please no, he’s 31 why would we do this, we’d just be lumbering ourselves with another ageing player who will be around years.

Everything we do in the transfer market seems to be based on how cheap the transfer fee is.

He deserves first team football wherever he is.

He's not a reserve.

That’s always been the case even back in the Wenger days but the difference was Wenger had the scouts and a good eye for talent.

Now we just sign anyone and everyone who’s available because it’s convenient

Runnarson, Ryan, Willian, Ceballos, Odegaard and possibly Bertrand soon all on loan/free transfers, Runnarson was something like 1.5M I think.

Anyways it’s not really a list of exciting players is it those players would struggle to get on the bench for City/Pool and some of them are starting for us, just shows how far we’ve dropped in quality the last few years.

Good God, if this is the level we're recruiting at, why didn't we just keep Kola?

Arsenal are hoping to beat Manchester City to the signing of 31-year-old England left-back Ryan Bertrand, who will leave Southampton when his contract runs out at the end of the season. (Mail on Sunday)

I agree with others on here, why do we keep buying ageing players. He'll be 32 before the start of the season, we need to be building for the future. HIs legs could go by Christmas, then what?

Reliable cover for Tierney who'll miss many games through injury. No problem with this. He's a decent player
