Why are we bothering with Ben f'in White for £50m when Bissouma plays in a role that we need to reinforce much more urgently?

It's happening again I'm afraid. We are the undisputed masters of FUBAR and reason why we don't have at least the 3 European trophies and 4 league titles more that we SHOULD have won during Wenger's reign. No, I'm not just stuck in the past bleating on about underachievement or being unlucky, rather that I recognise we don't have it within our DNA to be the best we could possibly be. Why strive for 100% when 99% is more than enough to get the job done is the very essence of our club.

Every man and his dog can see that Bissouma is exactly the type of player that this team is screaming out for and if anything seeking out an alternative player to ALSO be purchased alongside him to ensure diligence in the face of injury, suspension or loss of form and competition is what we should be actioning.

That United were some 10 league titles behind Liverpool's trophy haul is what Ferguson understood was paramount to being addressed before ever laying claim to being the best no matter what else had been won. We are content with third place also ran status as it is ok to be 7 titles behind proper big clubs and can afford to wait until Chelsea overtake us with their 14th title win. Roll on the mid to late 2030's when Arsenal start winning titles again.

Alas however, we are The Arsenal, who can stroll around with our noses stuck up in the air because we know what we're doing in preferencing Granit Xhaka over Ngolo Kante and paying more than 3 times the money for the privilege. Of course we know what we're doing in conceding the pursuit of Virgil Van Djyk to Southampton because they met Celtic's £12M asking price whilst we thought £10.5M plus the fact that he wanted to join us was more than enough to seal the deal. That worked out well didn't it. Not to matter though, we showed them how big, clever and significant a club we are by signing Skhodran Mustafi for £35M instead.

It is this track record that is now strangling the life out of the momentary optimism spawned by genuine links to Buendia, Bissouma and Berge who are exactly as the doctor ordered in addressing our ailments ahead of the next season. As it is following the Buendia debacle, rather than feeling excited Josh I feel more like the uncompromising dread of a new born baby being handed over to nurse Beverly Allitt with Dr. H. Shipman as my GP.

Agreed.

We should of got him now while Liverpool and Utd were concentrating their funds elsewhere.

In January if these clubs are looking at him then we don't have a chance, no Europe, bottom of the league, not in the top 4.

Amen.
Our fans are like lemmings waiting for the media to tell them which cliff to jump off.
There is no evidence we were ever in for Bissouma or ever will be.
Should we be?
Probably not.
No Arsenal fans were even talking about him until the media started floating some rumours.
He's been in England for 3 years and none of the big clubs have taken him.
He's entering his 4th year for Brighton.
Contrast to Kante - Leicester found him, played one season - gone to Chelsea.
Bissouma has all of a sudden reached superstar status amongst Arsenal fans - all down to the media.

In May, when we beat Brighton 2-0, Bissouma was f***ing dreadful against our midfield - the same midfield that is apparently shite according to the same people that are bigging up Bissouma.

Brighton want 50m for him

We overpaid for White which hasn't worked out yet. Do we do so again?
