Give him a couple of cup games at least. See how he does. Doubt he'll play v Leicester though.

When’s the Leicester game, next week?

Think there’s a good chance he’ll play

Sooner we’re out of the league cup the better so might as well experiment, I’m sure Leicester will too

To be honest who really cares about this signing, it’s a backup, hopefully he won’t need game time, he’s just a squad filler.

More important thing to focus on.

This.

Until he shows Arteta something or us in reserve games, he could become another Emi but not holding my breath, its the Leno show now.

Now that Emi Martínez has signed for Aston Villa and with Matt Macey potentially on the way out as well, it looks like either Dejan Iliev or Karl Hein will be promoted to third-choice goalkeeper.

Dejan Iliev—now 25 years old—has been with Arsenal since 2012 but, despite that, his experience at senior level is rather limited. Unlike Macey, Iliev hasn't publicly expressed his desire to leave, but—going by recent reports—another loan move also doesn't look unlikely.

Karl Hein is just 18, but already a highly-rated goalkeeper, having recently made his debut for Estonia's national team. Since Arteta took over he has already trained with the first team on several occasions, meaning it's not at all unthinkable that he'll be considered for the role.

Another exciting prospect is 19-year-old Arthur Okonkwo. According to Jeorge Bird, he made a 'major impact' during the 2018-19 season but subsequently missed the entirety of last season due to personal reasons. Because of this, it's unlikely that he's being considered, but hopefully he can quickly regain his old form and continue to grow from there on.

We have the squad to rotate though.

Rúnarsson
Cedric - Holding - Saliba - AMN/Kola
Willock - Elneny
Nelson - Ozil - Saka
Nketiah

Sure, there's the EL as well. But that won't start until October end.

We should use the League Cup like Wenger used to—give the youngsters/fringe players a run in.

Given that we're facing Liverpool if we get past Leicester, we might as well play the kids. Hardly a priority this season.

Mikel Arteta confirms a new keeper (Runarrson) is close to joining Arsenal.

"We’ve been looking in the market and we will shortly be in a position to announce our new signing."

Thank god we didn't splash half the Emi fee for that Raya bloke to sit on the bench

We should buy a home grown keeper though, if Raya is to expensive get someone else.

I was working out our home grown (cough cough on football manager) and if we sign this guy, if we was to bring in either Partey or Aouar, or both then 3-4 foreign players would would have to go, i ended up sacrificing Torreira, Sokratis, Kolasinac and Elneny, can we move all of those on in a week?

But that's our transfers done and dusted I reckon this window.

Is it certain he'll be second?

I read somewhere we are still in for another keeper and that Runer might be third choice
