That's a big factor for us. Laca almost plays like a false 9. With Auba out wide, Laca is the perfect foil.
Yes, he's great on the ball. Uses his strength well and is intelligent with his distribution.

Ah. Makes sense.
But I'd say it would be too hasty right now.
We need to address our midfield needs this summer.

How? It's rare that a club is so desperate and overpays so much for a player. The only smart thing Liverpool did was buying him for 8m in the first place, the rest was pure stupidity from Barcelona.
i said liverpool done smart business. you said it wasn't smart then you said it rarely happens.
so it was smart then.

That can't be said about Coutinho. The incompetent Barca board decided to drop £150m on a player who'd never been world class. It was a combination of Liverpool's resolve and Barca's stupidity.
Sterling wanted to leave following 13/14. City lacked homegrown players at the time. When someone of his caliber was available, it made sense for City to pursue him.
Liverpool's current success is a result of their owner's ambition, their heritage, and luck.
We're not in the same situation.
Liverpool absolutely got lucky with Coutinho. Had Neymar stayed, Coutinho would have moved to PSG for £50m. Neymar left and Barca's board were desperate.
The stars aligned for Liverpool.

We have the highest ticket prices in the country in the second biggest stadium in the country. We were in the CL 20+ years in a row. We're a massive club.
Where's all the money gone?
Ineptness is in this club from top to bottom

Yep. That last sentence sums it up. We've been poorly run. Even if we had or have the money, when you look at our transfers over the last 5 years, we've just done a poor job on transfers overall. Heck, the players we just bought after Wenger in 2018 are all on there way out with the exception of Leno. Too much waste.
