Arsenal are favourites to sign Atletico Madrid and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey and have offered to triple the 27-year-old's wages. (AS - in Spanish)

Nothing new then

Confident that we'll get him. Even more confident that we'll only sell deadwood to free up cash now that Martinelli and Saka have re-upped.

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey, 27, is reportedly set to snub interest from Arsenal and sign a new contract with Atletico Madrid, who have offered to double his salary and his buy-out clause. (GhanaSoccerNet, via Daily Mail)

That's that then

Sounds like he suddenly seen sense, at Athletico he’s at a competitive team, in the CL, playing under a great manager, would be odd to come to a club who are basically a sinking ship at the moment.

Maybe it was just a ploy to double his salary though and he never really wanted to come.

Never believed this for a second, none of it makes any sense.

He's their main midfielder, the only reason he wouldn't fully fit in there is because he's Ghanaian and not Spanish but that's about it. Why our lot think they'd ever let him leave for less than the clause is mental.

Just spunk 50m and flog Guendouzi for 25m elsewhere.

I feel like we'd need to do B before we can do A.
