As a Canadian gooner I'd be so happy to have him leading the line for my club

Bit short for my liking.

We need someone who can get above the two marking CB's when the crosses come in.

Its not my ideal choice of strikers, I prefer the Salah, Henry types but Arteta wants to play the lone CF target man so we need what we need unfortunately.

At 5'11 for David, we really need 6'2 minimum.

Thats what David is, hes a LW that plays up top, hes not from what i have seen a pressing forward who can play with back to goal and hold the ball up for the wingers, he'd be a direct Auba replacement.

He reminds me of Martial with a higher work rate and probably less skill.

The Canadian international is one of several names being looked at by the Gunners

Arsenal are keen on Lille forward Jonathan David as their attempts to sign a striker this month are frustrated, according to ESPN.

Having missed out on Dusan Vlahovic and facing a huge fee to sign Alexander Isak, Arsenal have turned to Canadian international David.

Lille however want to wait until the summer to sell, while Chelsea and Tottenham are also interested.

Very good player but not really what we need.

Its like playing ESR upfront.

I've come to this conclusion too. I think he'd have the same issues as our main striker that Auba had.

Arsenal target Jonathan David is determined to leave Lille this summer, handing the Gunners the perfect incentive to strike a deal for the Canada international forward, 22, at the end of the season. (Sky Germany, via Express)

On gut feeling I'm most in favour of going for this guy, seems to have the most to his game from those we are linked with and won't come at the completely extortionate figures the others are.

Much rather gamble on this guy than spunk the same money on DCL ffs.

[Fabrizio Romano via podcastherewego] Arsenal explored the opportunity of Jonathan David and spoke with Darwin Núñez’s agent in January. Haaland is not a realistic option for Arsenal this summer.

Scored 13 league goals this year in Ligue 1.
Strikes me as a known entity, but what we know he's just OK, but not great.

This guy and Moussa Dembele at Lyon I feel are our most realistic prospects. But signing either won't be easy at all.
