Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Haaland, 19, after inviting the striker's father, former Leeds midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland, to visit their training ground. (Sport Bild, via Metro)

Ffs thought we'd have learned from the hilarious attempt Wenger made to bed Mbappes mum to try and get him. f**k the parents. Go for the player.

Apparently he already visited London Colney? Find it hard to believe tbh, he's being courted everywhere and it seems like we're banking on Martinelli being the star forward in the next few years.

Manchester United and Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, whose release clause enables him to leave for £64m next summer, with Real Madrid accepting the 21-year-old Norway forward will move to the Premier League. (Sun)

With laca going, Auba getting on, Eddie gone and shit, martinelli and Balogun hated by arteta, how awesome would it be to get Haaland?

Will never happen cos he's ambitious no doubt but if we can sack Arteta, get in a manager that will get us top 4 and CL then who knows

I mean there is a chance he might want a challenge rather than a auto win club but the problem will be his wages, his agent wants 870k a week for him.

Mino should get in touch with Edu and Arteta. He’ll have those two mugs over a barrel in no time. If they paid 50 mil for White and gave Willian 200k a week they’ll be easy for Mino to manipulate.

Haaland apparently moving on from Dortmund this summer.

He was give the option some years ago of joining Juventus - and he chose Salzburg on lower wages. Following that he had the choice between Man Utd and Dortmund. He chose Dortmund for lower wages.

Apparently the lad is a footballer more than anything else, and working with his father as an advisor he chooses the club where he thinks he'll be happiest.

His best friend is Martin Odegaard.

If we get into the CL next year, why shouldn't we go for him?

Why is it funny?

We're in London, we have first class facilities, we can pay the transfer fee (the clause is £70m apparently), and a very decent wage. We have a talented young manager and a talented group of young players that will be added to. His best friend is here. There would be absolutely no pressure on him at all.

It is an attractive option for him. No doubt about that at all.

Yeah, I agree. And don't forget that he is only 21. He doesn't need to make a big time move this year.

Going by what Phil posted, it looks like game time is important for Haaland. Any big club interested in him will be crazy not to give him the minutes he wants.

In short, he can afford to make a big-time move this year if he wants and we will be low on that list of big clubs that he'd want to go to even if we qualify for the CL.

Yes, Odegaard is a factor that gives us a small edge but the factor that would elevate us to the very top of that list of big clubs interested in his services is how serious we are about getting back into the CL, winning the CL next season, and winning the CL for many other seasons after that. If we want to have even the slightest chance of convincing Haaland to join us, then everything we do from now till summer transfer deadline day will be integral. Performances, management, results, reputation, transfers, the whole nine yards need to be spot on. Anything less than that won't cut it, IMO

A £500k PW deal at City is all but done. I'm sure he can have his pal Odegaard helicoptered over to play Roblox or whatever these kids do in their free time.
