Appointing Chris Wilder would be a Moyes/Roy Hodgson/Tim Sherwood manoeuvre. That old 'give a British manager a chance' talk will just lead to failure.

I would take a caretaker for the season then go for a well considered appointment

Marco Rose & Ten Hag mainly. We have to gamble

Why would anyone be motivated to be a fluffer stand-in for 5 months while Raul takes time to hire a bigger swinging dick in the summer?

Allegri. Titles with AC Milan and Juventus in Serie A. It's not the most competitive league and not what it used to be but has beaten some good teams in the CL and made two finals. Hopefully he has spent this year out learning English..

Rafa would be a top choice for a club thats trying to move into Top 6, like Wolves or Everton. He'd sort out our defense but Top 4 is a much harder ask. Plus he hasn't dealt with a EL schedule since 2015.

I don't see Jose doing that tbh. If we get rid of Unai before end of the year, I think we either need to bring in a proven top manager - i.e. Allegri, or give Freddie a run through end of the season.

Arsenal should "break the bank" to bring Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers to the club, says former player Paul Merson. (Sky Sports)

Either need to go and get Mourinho now and give him a load of money to spend in January and the summer.

Or give it Freddie to the end of the season and go all out for Rose, Nagelsmann or Ten Hag.

I've seen some mentions for Howe. I can't agree with him for now, even if it got Emery out. We're missing three players for his 4-4-2. We'd need another winger/wide midfielder and two CMs. Guendouzi has been good, but I don't trust him yet in a midfield two. And Torreira is too short for a midfield two unless we're playing three CBs.

I guess we could play Guendouzi and Chambers in midfield and a kid out wide until January, but we don't really have the squad rn for a flat 4-4-2.

So unless we're gonna go hunting in the market during January, we need someone who can play a 4-3-3 or some variation of it imo
