Plus some fans are settling for mediocre.

Genuine question, what difference does that make?
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???

Well perhaps if they didn't voices could be heard questions could be asked as to why 8th 8th and possibly 6th are acceptable, it's like living in comfortable shit for some they just resigned themself to it and are brainwashed into thinking it's the norm now. :(

A demanding, vocal and active fan base can help put pressure on the owners and manager. A doubt the pressure will put a spine in the owners back but it does have some effect.

Toxic fans who attack players and the club can destroy confidence and encourage opposition.
Don't confuse a demanding , active and vocal fanbase with the small percentage of fans who try at every opportunity to drag the club down with extreme responses to anything that goes wrong.

I think the kroenkes have shown that they don't give a toss about fans views, particularly those on social media.

That's good thing, but players will see it. Some people are affected by things like that.
Confidence is vital in every player.

To an extent. They paid attention during the European Super League reaction and I suspect the recent spending splurge was a response to that because they did say in their statement to the fans that there would be major activity in the summer. I'd also say the criticism of Wenger and Emery caught their ear.

But overall, a leopard won't change its spots. The Kroenke's may move a few pieces around to keep us interested but it's the same chessboard.

Club will never be great again as long as the Kroenkes are in charge. Best accept it and try to find other things in life to enjoy.

The other shoe has to drop sometime.

We lost £47m in 2020, £107m in 2021, and that's before our £125m net spend this season, for which we likely won't even make CL.

Arteta has said he wants 5-6 players. If he goes to the board asking for £50m Ruben Neves and £67m Darwin Nunez, there's a chance he'll get slapped down and told to make it work with what he has.

They should just give him £20 taxi fare and send him on his way. ;)

I'm sorry ,but im one of the biggest Wenger fans out there i tend to disagree with u big time.
Arteta and Emery(Not Emery per say but the club)Spend year on year after Wenger left on so many players that if Wenger had 1/2 of their budget or the team we have now he would be be 3rd and we would be playing CL.
He made alot of mistakes during his last few season and he was never good at transfer dealings to begin with , but to say this things about the greatest manager of this football club is complete shambles.

He f***ked it up during the last few seasons under pressure to make changes and the transfer world was changing and he just couldn't adapt , but he even if he comes back now with this squad he would be x10 Arteta can ever be.

Abit of a wild card but we should bring in Bielsa, at least we’d have exciting football for a while and he’d improve a lot of players.

White, Pepe and Nketiah all played their best football under him
