Aye, nothing to this I think. Better we go for someone like Aouar if we can afford him.

Agreed I don't think this is happening.

Coutinho is no longer fodder after his stint at Bayern, people have sat up and taken notice again.

He's no longer "Just the guy Barca want rid of" he's the guy that played great at a CL winning team and sunk his own club.

If anthing its made Barca look bad of how Bayern took their own player and brought him back to peak performance.

Messi just did Coutinho's job better than he himself could. It was a stupid transfer to make in the first place. They did the same thing with Fabregas, he was never going to replace Iniesta.

With Messi leaving, Coutinho suddenly looks like a pretty good CAM.

Id rather not. Dont want the club to get trapped by high wages and end up in another Ozil situation.

Aouar wont command as much in wages.

He's decided to stay at Barca apparently.

I knew this one was fluff.

This deal was never going to happen. The figures didn’t stack up, we don’t seem to have much to spend.

The Partey and Aouar deals also appear to hang on the balance, we don’t seem to be able to afford the sums without selling players and so far we haven’t found any takers for our players, despite all the rumours.

Barcelona and Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho, 28, could make a loan move to Arsenal before the transfer window closes. (Star)

wouldn't be the worst alternative tbh, cant see us landing aouar next season though as someone better will be in for him.

If we go down the Partey route, then loaning Couts makes sense. Doubt it though.

I have no idea what Ceballos cost us in loan fees but that sum combined with what Barca would charge and Emi-cash would be Aouar money I bet.

Take Barca's leftovers for one season or have our own player ............

Rather we stumped up for a player who actually belongs to us.

I don't see him leaving Barca this window. And I don't see us paying Barca €10m or so for the loan when we are bringing in multiple players on free transfers.

Have to pay €15m loan fee + 50% wages.

Would be around €4-5m a year. So, that's €20m for Coutinho for 9 months.
