Hang about everyone. This guy was quality at Liverpool. So much so Barca paid big bucks for him!
Agreed, we shouldn't be loosing Laca or Auba for him but he is a quality player.
Of course we would make him look useless like all the players we have but he is quality and proven in the prem.

Under Wenger he would be a brilliant by the way.
Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.

At this point we have no idea how anyone coming to Arsenal will actually perform.

Willian and David Luiz were good at Chelsea, terrible here

Ben White exposed on Matchday 1

Odegaard performed like an average CM. On par with Elneny in terms of attacking contribution, which probably says more about our build up play than it does about him.

Coutinho would be another terrible move financially unless he wants to play with a 90% wage cut, time to forget this guy

In thinking of cover for Smith-Rowe and Odegaard in particular during AFCON, noises of a loan move for the Brazilian does make sense to me in being proactive against losing momentum through nothing other than sheer lack of a quality player with experience.

Neither of them are going to the African Nations

Barcelona want to offload Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho and the 29-year-old's preferred option is a switch to Arsenal. (Sport - in Spanish)

Remember when Arteta said he regularly talks to Wenger?

"Shall I sign a defensive midfielder or a striker?"

"No, sign more attacking midfielders"

Coutinho is another example of a footballer who lost the edge once the huge money came along.
Would be a disaster signing another player like that.

Does that mean we might pay silly wages again to an ageing player?

I suppose swapping Coutinho for Auba wouldn’t be so bad… IF we also signed a striker. Depends on Coutinho’s character. If he was willing to keep his mouth shut, put in 100% and accept he won’t play regularly then it would be a good move to get Auba off the books.

Why do we need him when we have ESR & MO ?

I guess he could play on the left rotating with Gabi ...

He isn't going to come to sit on the bench
