Expiring contracts: who should be on Arsenal's radar?

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Why not? I love cavani, but perhaps as you do, i see issues because our main striker barely gets any good service bar an occiosional saka cross.

However, laca is done here and cavani is MUCH better. So if we can get some good wingers or creative midfielders, cavani would be very lethal for us.

Mario Gotze has failed miserably to live up to expectations.

I suppose yes, I would take him as well but thought that comment might have gone to the Wish List thread.

Would he have an Ibra like galvanising impact?

Messi, Alaba, Donnarumma, Wijnaldum, Aguero, Sergio Ramos, Draxler, Diego Costa, Depay, Erik Garcia, Boateng, Jack Martinez, Modric

Theirs a lot of good/decent options about, aside from Messi I think if we offered the right deal everyone else on this list would be a possibility. As soon as the transfer window opens we should try and get one or two of these options on a pre contract.

I think we should go for Wijnaldum and Depay to replace Cabellos when he goes back to Madrid and sell Lacazette in the summer for whatever we can get.

So our first team going into next season would look something like this...

————-———Leno———————

Bellerin—New CB—Gabriel—Tierney

——New CM—-Partey—Wijnaldum—

Pepe—————-Auba————Depay

Auba and Depay would work well in this system interchanging when need be, we can spend the summer transfer budget on a quality CM and quality CB to partner Gabriel.

Wijnaldum is 30 but he’s still got a good 2/3 years in him while Depay is 26 so theirs even re sale potential in a few years and possibly profit.

Would take alaba on a 3-4 year deal and Ramos on a year contract but think he’ll extend at Madrid.

Leaves us with just modric on a year deal. The rest wouldn’t make any sense.

Where would Alaba play though?

We have Tierney for LB and Gabriel for LCB theirs no way any of them can operate RCB either as they’re all predominantly left footed so it wouldn’t work, obviously he’s better than both of them but what’s the point on upgrading two of our strongest positions?

Tierney can't stay fit, Kola will be gone. He'd give good cover for LB/CB and he's played all over the pitch for Austria so no reason he couldn't sit in CM with Partey and allow Aouar or someone to move forward.

Top quality player who would give us a great option in multiple positions, plus his gf would make a sexy addition to the Arsenal WAG club.

He's better at CM than all our CMs too.

Calhanoglu at AC Milan is out of contract in the summer. Still 26yo, attacking mid that's good at set pieces. Exactly what we need. Utd are apparently set to sign him in the summer.

Rui Silva good age and experience. I don't know if he would be agreeing to be a backup keeper

If he’s good enough he’ll earn his place as 1st choice

100%. One of the most versatile footballers I have ever known. Cant ever get too excited though.
