Arsenal eye Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser

Paul Joyce,
Northern Football Correspondent

Arsenal are tracking Ryan Fraser, the Bournemouth winger, as they prioritise their signings for next season. Fraser, the 25-year-old Scotland international, has caught the eye of a number of clubs this season after six goals and ten assists in the Premier League.

The failure of Denis Suárez to make an impact at Arsenal after his January loan move from Barcelona has left Unai Emery, the manager, drawing up a list of new options to improve the threat from the flanks.

One of those is Fraser, whose versatility in either wide position adds to his allure. His contract with Bournemouth runs until 2020.

We need these kind of signings if we spend most of our budget on Alaba and Umtiti

He would excel here. If we are truly interested then, hopefully, he'll be available at a reasonable price.

9 assists in a Bournemouth team is no joke.

Winger with more goal contributions than Fraser this season (PL)

Hazard, Salah, Sterling, Son, Firmino

Now let's look at production relative to the offensive strength of each of the teams they play for (% of goal contribution).

Hazard 48%
Fraser 43%
Zaha 35%
Salah 33%
Sterling 29%
Son 28%
Firmino 24%
Obviously this wouldn't represent a direct increase at Arsenal, but it shows his performance relative to the quality of his team is exceptional. The same types of arguments have made Zaha's valuation sky rocket.

Be a good purchase, not one that's going to make you think will win the title but with our finances it's a good purchase.

Bournemouth ace Ryan Fraser insists he's happy with life on the south coast despite being linked with a move to Arsenal

"Every player says they try to come away from the speculation but at the same time the best thing I can do is concentrate on the pitch," he said.

"I love it here, not just the football club but the manager and especially my teammates as well -I’m close with them all."
