London rivals Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham may have to battle each other and Paris Saint-Germain for Feyenoord's Orkun Kokcu, according to the Daily Mail.

The 17-year-old midfielder has starred for the club's U-19s, is training with the Feyenoord's first team but could depart the team in January.

Scouts from across Europe have been watching Kokcu, and the Premier League clubs are fighting to be in front of the line if he's sold.

Mention of a 23 million deal for this guy, think that money can be better spent.

Our midfield is weak physically and lacks athleticism. What the hell is a small 19 year old gonna contribute?

Arsenal are set to submit a bid to sign Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu, according to reports in the Netherlands.

The 21-year-old, who has scored three goals and registered six assists in 35 appearances this season, has been hailed as one of the best young midfielders in the Eredivisie.

According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord’s technical director Frank Arnesen is open to selling Kokcu in order to raise the budget for new signings.

The report claims that Arsenal have been considering a move for Kokcu ‘for a long time’ and are now expected to make an offer ‘within a few weeks’.

It’s also claimed that Mikel Arteta is supporting Arsenal’s push to sign Kokcu as he has been aware of the midfielder since his time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

The report also claims that Arteta views Kokcu as a player who fits in with his ‘philosophy’.

However, Arsenal are set to face strong competition from Sevilla for the midfielder.

Monchi, Sevilla’s director of football, has already travelled to the Netherlands to hold talks with Kokcu’s representatives.

Feyenoord had been open to rewarding Kokcu with a new contract but the Dutch club are unwilling to meet the midfielder’s demands.

Jaap Stam managed Kokcu during their time together at Feyenoord and believes the midfielder, who is valued at around £23 million, has the ability to shine at Arsenal, if given enough time to adapt.

‘He would need to adjust because the step to Arsenal and the Premier League is totally different when you compare it to Holland,’ the former Manchester United defender said in an interview with Goal.

“But he has the ability. He is a player who has the personality to want to improve, he always wants to do better. He’s never happy with himself, he’s disappointed if he doesn’t score, or his passes aren’t good enough.

‘When I joined Feyenoord, he hadn’t played a lot because everyone said he was too young. I put him in the first team and let him play most of the games, I trusted him and saw a lot of ability in him. Now he’s proving himself in Holland and is one of the best midfield players in the country.

‘He’s certainly got the ability to make that step to the Premier League.’

Edit: he's at Feyenoord, not Ajax.

Feels risky to buy a kid for £23m.

They probably don't need the money. Feyernoord probably do though
