Ornstein:

Reports suggesting that Houssem Aouar is going to sign for Juventus are not accurate. The last I knew, the feeling at Juventus was that there was no chance in that happening.

So maybe Arsenal can be hopeful [on Aouar]. We know about that admiration, for Partey as well but I think Arsenal are going to need to get some bodies out first and then we'll see if either of them, both of them develop in the final weeks of the window.

Not sounding concrete enough interest tbh, weird since we reportedly bid already. Just hope ornstein isn’t fully into the details these days so he’s being a bit vague more than our interest cooling off.

we know partey's price is a fixed £45m and dunno what aouar's is. as he said once torreira goes, maybe kolasinac to leverkusen too we'll see it speed up hopefully

getting both would be such a gamechanger for us

We need to offload players first it's as simple as that. We don't even have space for more non HG players in our current squad.

He's coming home as soon as we ship out some of the dross

Lyon sporting director Juninho insisted there have been no offers for Houssem Aouar or Barcelona target Memphis Depay.

Aouar, 22, has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Chelsea, while 26-year-old Depay has reportedly agreed to join La Liga giants Barca.

But Juninho says the Ligue 1 side are yet to receive official offers for either player so far this summer.

The fact that we seem to be the only club that's seriously linked with him this window makes me think he's not actually looking to move. If he was, his agent would be shopping him around, and everyone knows he's had a very good season.

The teams that would want him have too many midfielders already

City won’t go for him, their midfield is stacked and have Foden who they rely on

Juve can’t afford him and have about 9 million central midfielders

Barca are broke

United have their midfield 3 + van De Beek as back up

Not sure who else he could go to. It’s a unique situation where we have to take advantage

It was the same with Auba, I’m not really convinced about these other bids he recieved

^ We had the cash to sign Auba though. If we're going to haggle over minuscule installments for Aouar, I doubt Lyon would entertain that notion.

With Pepe, we pulled off something unlikely with a low initial payment (of ~ £10m as alleged). Pepe isn't in the same class as Aouar, nor would any club be stupid enough to pay £72m for him.

pepe was different, lille knew they were robbing us blind so it didn't matter exactly when they got the money. They already had their replacements in place for a fraction of the cost anyway (now also sold for 70m).

We're not getting both ......... you heard it here.

We're a few days away from having all of Partey's money, if we don't move for him then maybe it will be Aouar.

I am actually wondering if we'll get either though and go for cheaper versions.

Exactly.

Aouar has world class potential. So even if Lyon hold him for another year, next summer, the market for him will explode.

Unless of course he becomes injured or has a poor season. The latter is unlikely.

Aouar is only 22 unlike Auba, who was 29 when he signed for us.

We were very active in the transfer market to make the Auba deal happen.

Giroud went to Chelsea for £20m, Walcott to Everton for about the same, Coq to Valencia for idk how much. And before that, we sold Ox to Liverpool for £35m or thereabouts. We ended the season with a negative net spend.

That was also effectively a 3 team deal as Batshuayi went on loan to Dortmund to fill the striker gap. Not sure if Lyon have a replacement lined up for Aouar.

This time we've only sold Emi so far.

“Beyond” apparently should be added

And Arteta has made Aouar the priority

“ Soon a concrete offer from @Arsenal for Houssem #Aouar

The London club should make a proposal beyond 40M €

Mikel #Arteta makes the player @OL his priority for this #mercato”

Telefoot are apparently quite reliable
