Lorenzo Pellegrini

https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/arsenal ... -per-praet

Arsenal interested in midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini (Roma), considering Unai Emery's good standing with Roma sporting director Monchi; Dennis Praet (Sampdoria) is an alternative

Key stats (p/90):

0.4 goal contributions
3.2 tackles & interceptions
2.2 chances created
0.9 take ons

similar player in our squad: Aaron Ramsey

Juve were reported to having a deal close, maybe if Aaron is going Pellegrini may come in

It's been 22 years since anyone other than Wenger has been in charge of recruitment.

It's a new day.

Niccolò Galli
Arturo Lupoli
Vito Mannone

All of them were Arsenal academy signings, though.

Can't immediately think of an Italian whom we signed on a permanent deal and was brought in to immediately represent the first team.

Didn’t look anything special the few times I’ve seen him play.

He needs to improve a lot but let's not forget it was his first year in a big team as Roma...the next season will be crucial for his career

For such a big football country it’s surprising just how few top quality midfielders you lot produce. Pirlo, De Rossi and Verratti are probably the only three from the last 20 years.

Gattuso as well...but yes you are right we are not living a great moment at all...some young players are good (I like especially Chiesa from Fiorentina) but I don't know if they will be world top players
