Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Why are we boosting this guy up like he's Messi or something?

We're the only team entertaining this stupid fee, £60m for this guy is awful business.

Auoar is much cheaper.

It's the stench of desperation that's really putting me off.

Ben White was the same thing, nobody else was seriously in the running to sign him. We had a solid defense, we didn't need him urgently.

Yet we let Brighton take us to the cleaners on his valuation.

For 60m we could get aouar and bissouma which completely transforms our midfield.

Great point.

But Arteta knows best apparently, I always get concerned when a majority of the fans have better ideas than a sitting manager.

Some rumours swirling that this Brexit window is actually a Richard Garlick masterclass, because the FA will soon be changing the rules to lower the number of non-HG players.

James McNicholas from The Athletic and Gunnerblog on the Maddison links:

I remain very sceptical about Arsenal's interest in James Maddison. Everything that I have heard (or been told) suggests that he is not a name who is being discussed prominently from within the club. I think James Maddison is much more interested in Arsenal than Arsenal is in James Maddison. I don't think that interest, at this point, is particularly reciprocal but I don't rule it out.

*For a more detailed take, it's being discussed between minute 51 and minute 58.

Given all the talk is coming from the Arsenal end I doubt that it’s Maddison making the media noise

More a case of 'when' than 'if' we sign him imo.

James McNicholas suggests that none of the noise coming from Arsenal's end, and that the rumours are either coming from Maddison's agent, or from intermediaries who have their own motives.

He also does not rule out the move: what he said is that Maddison is currently not a priority. He further explained that, if Arsenal's main targets fall through, there's a good chance that Arsenal has already done some of the groundwork in order to speed up proceedings, should they look to facilitate a deal with Leicester and Maddison's representatives later on in transfer window.

The entire link came from AFCBell not a single Leicester journalist has commented on it. McNicholls comments come off to me as a face saving exercise due to being either unwilling or unable to meet the price

Google translate (Arabic to English):

The last two weeks of the transfer market will be frenetic, the club (according to sources contacted by #ArsenalBell) aims to sign James Maddison, and if this is not possible, the ongoing talks with Real Madrid regarding Odegaard pave the way for signing with the Norwegian.

Obviously, the club is targeting one of them, not both.

Senior sources in the club confirmed to the account staff that the club is working to make progress in the Martin Odegaard file in the same time frame mentioned above and in parallel with at least another deal in the same position (we understand that this is a deal that is James Madison, which the club sees according to What we have been told repeatedly is his goal #1.

Sources who know the club's thinking tell the account staff that Arsenal sees it as having all the power in its negotiations with Real Madrid regarding one of its main goals, Martin Odegaard and the preferred option after Madison as a creative player.

James Madison's inner circle speaks in a tone that is more positive than ever, but sober of inevitable

Arsenal are working on the two deals side by side in anticipation of any hurdles or deadlocks the club might face in trying to reach an agreement with Leicester City over the value of James Maddison's deal.

Arsenal will intensify their efforts this week and the remainder of the summer transfer market in their efforts to sign James Maddison. Official communication between clubs is expected to gain upward momentum very soon. The player lining is anticipating the outcome of the conversations with a high degree of interest.

more rubbish from him then, you pulled out of the Ramsdale fee over cost, you won't pay what we want, whom ever is leaking to this guy, assuming he's no just making it up, need to wrap his head around the fact Arsenal have no leverage over Leicester to drop a fee to a lower amount
