Was kept 2017 as expected to challenge for starting spot. Gabriel left, Mertesacker retiring the following summer, Holding picking up an injury and Jenks loaned.

Leicester made same offer Summer 2018. Club planned to use funds to bring home Soyuncu on the recommendation of Sven.

Unai advised club to reject Soyuncu and turn down the bid for Chambers who impressed in pre-season. Leicester ending up signing Soyuncu and Evans.

Post a link to the 2018 bid if you have one. If Unai wanted him that bad, why did the club send him on loan and spend £18m on Sokratis?

All I see is Wenger turning down an easy profit to avoid admitting he made a mistake signing him in the first place.
