Why are we linked with another striker who will purportedly cost us £50 million? We've already spent £100 million on strikers. Why aren't we linked to any defensive midfielders?

Arsenal puts Koulibaly in the crosshairs: observers at the San Paolo with Leipzig

"We need something in defense, our numbers are not enough and we will have to work harder." Arsene Wenger was clear at the end of the last winter market, which is why, if he will still be on Arsenal's bench at the end of the season, the chance that the Gunners will invest big figures next summer would not be so remote. And the first goal of the English list has a clear name and surname: Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Naples power plant is one of the best around the continent, whose age-quality-price ratio makes one's eyes strain. That's why, as also reported by the English newspaper Express, some of the coach's emissaries were at the San Paolo last Thursday to look more closely at the French-Senegalese, in Naples for four seasons and now able to achieve important level of maturation in view also of the World Cup that will play with Senegal in spring.

Not just Koulibaly, however, because Arsenal's interest in Timo Werner is not a secret: the 1996 German is one of the most interesting players around Europe, he's still doing well with the Leipzig shirt but he's ready to change house at the end of the year. The two goals of the San Paolo, right against Koulibaly, have confirmed the good hopes. Interest also for Insigne? The Neapolitan is certainly followed in the Premier, its value is known also outside the national borders, but it seems difficult a market offensive for him at the end of the season.

If we can get Werner we should do it.
He's already a star but he is going to be a much bigger star in the next 5 years - has all the makings of a world class striker.
He won't be avilable for much longer.

Timo Werner

Postby Highbury Hillbilly » Wed Mar 30, 2022 10:29 pm

Germany forward Timo Werner wants to leave Chelsea and the Blues will not stand in the 26-year-old's way - as long as their price tag of 40m euros (£33m) is met. (Sport1)

1G in 14 PL games, mostly sub appearances

Had 15 assists in all comps last season in the PL when he was a starter.

He's actually one of the fastest players in the league, but his finishing is terrible.

I think he is a very good player. You're not wrong about his finishing, but I think maybe Tuchel's strategy is too rigid for his attackers. Werner, Havertz, Ziyech, Pulisic, Lukaku were all struggling last season.
