Arsenal boss Wenger interested in speedy Real Madrid attacker

Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid frontman Lucas Vazquez, according to a report in Spain.

Don Balon claim the 26-year-old Vazquez is a target for Arsene Wenger as he contemplates life without Alexis Sanchez.

The Spaniard has only made five La Liga starts this term, scoring once and grabbing one assist and Wenger is hopeful the lure of more game time will convince the player to move to the Premier League.

The report claims the attacker, who can play on the right wing, is considering his future at the Bernabeu. Vazquez is under contract until June 2021 and Wenger sees him as a replacement for Sanchez, who is out of contract in the summer.

The Gunners boss today denied Sky Italia reports from Thursday suggesting the club had identified Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the man to replace Sanchez.

But at Friday’s news conference the Frenchman rejected the idea and said signing the Gabon forward was “not a possibility” for Arsenal.

Still, if Sanchez does leave Arsenal this month Wenger will need to find a replacement and he has more than likely draw up a list of targets. And Wenger is reportedly “willing to do anything” to sign Vazquez, whose speed and agility has impressed the Gunners boss.

Good player wasting his career in Madrid. Would easily be a starter for us.

Loan him with option to buy. Hes better than Iwobi but we can find better in summer so a loan would be ideal

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is looking to sign Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez, claims OK Diario.

Vazquez has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021, and the Champions League winners will likely do all they can to hold on to the Spain international.

If you want to be authentic, it's LOO-KAAS BAS-KESH.

The anglicized pronunciation would simply be Vaas-kes.

The dialect varies, especially in Spanish because geographical modifications kick in.

A common name like David Villa is pronounced in many ways depending on where you're from.

Not going to happen. Lichs, Torreira and Leno are it for this year and that's not bad given the deadwood that have been moved on.
