Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Still rather Soares for 30m.

Itd be difficult to call:

Zaha - prem proven but he would need to hit the ground running many of the same attributes as Pepe and similar numbers. Well drilled defensively, works hard and will put in a shift. 20m cheaper.

Pepe - 3 years younger so more time to improve and develop with us. Puts in a shift same as zaha and offers the explosive play we need. 20m more expensive, which will hinder us in future windows as it's a 20m debt every year for the next 5 years apparently.

Soares - magician with the ball, one of Brazil's brightest young talents. Left sided, comfortable on both flanks and 2 footed. owned by 4 different parties so a deal would likely be extremely difficult to complete this window (we agreed to pay for Gremios portion but not the other owners).

I trust our scouts and management on this. Zaha feels like the safer bet, but Pepe seems to have a higher ceiling + greater resell value. It also seems Lille are more open to accepting payment in instalments than Crystal Palace are.

Pepe over Zaha every time. I get the appeal of Zaha being prem proven, and that's definitely worked for Liverpool, but Pepe is definitely better.

... something about the way Zaha dribbles that makes me think "ah, Welbeck trekkers, sometimes it does work!"

I mean we have Pepe, so this thread is now irrelevant. Even so, let's refrain from making silly statements like Zaha reminds you of Welbeck. Zaha has far more ability than Danny ever had and can do things with a football that he could only dream of.

The fact he scored 10 goals last season in an arguably inferior team speaks volumes.

Not denying that Zaha is clearly a more superior player, the fact that he can produce in the final third puts him way ahead of Welbeck, but his tricks ain't so silky. Sometimes he looks like he's not in complete control, and that's what reminds me of Welbeck... if all you've got is a step over, then we know you're faking it. Stick to shimmies and speed.

What about Mkhitarian?

If he doesn’t play the ball boys behind the goal will be redundant. Poor kids. Just play the man.

Mkhy is past it, sell him, Laca would be great as number 10 in a shadow striker role rather than playmaker.

Malcom turned down Everton for Zenit so coast is clear for them to sign Zaha. this one's done.

I read somewhere that they submitted a bid, CP turned it down and both agreed to leave it. Wonder if they go back for him.

Scenes when CP get relegated anyway and zaha goes for 30m

we beat out Napoli a d PSG for Pepe, whereas Everton aren't even hustling for Zahas signature. Malcom was their first choice.

if Zaha was coming of a 20+ goal season like Lukaku was in 2017, that'd be the level of 'PL Proven' that we (and other clubs) should be going for.

would still take him for £40m and send Mhikytarya. packing.

I think Everton are just going to get Moise Kean, i read he alone is 40m, i can't imagien they would spunk another 80 on Zaha, nor do i think the move would be appealing to him unless his relationships at Palace have really broke down since.

I think if we really are not in for him anymore he will stay at Palace and probably try and engineer a move to Chelsea next year (they were linked after losing Hazard).
