Gelson Martins

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Gelson Martins

I know this player has been linked with us a couple of days ago but I would love him at Arsenal. What do you guys think.? His speed and and acceleration is out of this world, he reminds me of Willian from Chelsea.

Never thought Willian was fast

Just a set piece merchant

This dude looked good in the little I saw him in the Confed cup

Going off youtube, he's f***ing lightning with or without the ball with a first touch to dream for.

Of course it could mean that all the defenders in the Portuguese league are slow as f**k. Doubt it though.

Looks like he's got a few decent crosses in him too, that one to Ronaldo was sick.

First time in a while I've really enjoyed a YouTube comp and I'm off to watch a few more....

Would be interested to see what he's like defensively.

There's a Portuguese guy at my work that's an insane benfica fan, might have to get his opinion.

Quite like him from limited viewing. Very raw but would be exciting to bring on every game

He seems to hug the touchline like a proper wide player but we don't really play that wide stretching football. It's more about forcing it down the middle.

Still, he could be lethal on the counter, especially with Sanchez and Laca starting.

-----------laca
Sanchez Ozil Martins
Omg!!

The counter attack with Ozil threading the balls through would make us one of the most lethal attacks in the world.

This is very unlikely to happen, Sporting wants 70 to 80M€ for him.

They're probably serious too. How are Portuguese clubs financially? They seem to produce ridiculously talented forwards all the time and behave like they don't need money.

Adrien Silva is going to spurs for 30M€, William is probably going to leave too, Rúben Semedo went to Villarreal for 14M€ and they might sell Alan Ruiz to Russia for 20M€+. So yeah, a lot of money coming in, bids of 40M€ for Bas Dost have also been rejected from Newcastle and Everton.

Did we ever buy someone from a portoguese club?
I don't remember. They always have huge price tags on their players and are hard to negotiate with.

Luís Boa Morte and Rui Fonte come to mind.

Both transferred from Sporting CP to Arsenal.
