Tribal football...Guilianelli lol...

It's 100 percent done but Monaco is playing Lemar in its preseason games just for the heck of it haha.

The guy is a fraud. Anytime there are strong reports of Arsenal interested in a player, he claims at some point that the deal is done. If they actually sign he takes the credit. If not, he moves on to next target.

From Ornstein himself on BBC site.

Arsenal are growing less optimistic of signing the Monaco winger Thomas Lemar. The France international is a key target and they are still trying to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

But further departures from Monaco - midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea and the likely exit of left-back Benjamin Mendy - mean a deal for Lemar is looking increasingly difficult.

Arsenal's intention remains to keep last season's top scorer Alexis Sanchez, despite the Chilean going into the final year of his contracted and reportedly keen to leave.

Yup, this is why I wanted us to go in agressively for him before those moves were made.

Looks like we are going to lose in our Target from Monaco but other teams are going to get theirs because they acted fast.

Agreed, we could see other teams were going for other Monaco players and yet have once again been really slow to try and get a deal done, this could yet turn out to be a poor summer, the signing of Laczette alone just isn't good enough.

Not convinced, once Monaco sell Mendy to City they'll have stacks of cash and won't really want to sell anymore of their players unless they get an offer they can't refsue, which I'm not sure we'll make.

Just need a bit of encouragement on the players side tbh. Monaco have more than enough nous and scouting to replace someone like Lemar

Saint-Maximin is already there but dunno if he's going on loan again

Player is not the issue and even if the reports are true that Lemar is pushing the move, they really don't have to sell unless we make an outrageous offer to Monaco. The likelyhood of that happening is slim.

Also, if it is true that Kylian is staying at Monaco, then they must have given him some reassurance squad wise. I doubt they would gut their team's quality. Again for them to consider this, Arsenal has to make an offer they simply can't refuse yet from the reports our offers for Lemar so far have been mocked (the first one publicly).

I think we'll end up bidding ~£55m and it'll be our last offer. We should be trying to build a good relationship with Monaco, could be fruitful for us in the future
