roaming playmaker would be what i'd classify him as, what would you call him?
A box to box midfielder, which is what he is. Definitely not a playmaker in the traditional sense of the word

Box to Box midfielders defend and attack, Ramsey is attack only.

A deep lying Roaming CAM? a Mezalla?

Ramsey isn't anywhere the passer or free kick taker lampard was but he's like Noble and lampard mix . I know that's horrible to compare him to that but that's what he is...

Ramsey should’ve been moulded into a 10 like Dele Alli.

Well, AW did attempt that towards the end of 2013/14 and when we attempted the 4141 with Ramsey and Wilshere playing as advanced CMs, but it was apparent immediately that when Ramsey is the main man he struggles to find the space thay he finds as a CM breaking forward.

It makes sense really; play Ozil at 10 and he drifts out wide to find space while Ramsey exploits the space left by Ozil. It's been a common feature when they play together and it's one of the reasons why Ramsey has become so effective since Ozil arrived. Ever since we got Ozil and subsequently Alexis all of the attention was put on them allowing Ramsey a much freer role. Play him like Dele alli and he loses that freedom

So swap him for Dele, they both cost 5m and at least our guy has won something. Spurs shouldn't say no, surely.

If you guys remember, Wenger originally played Ramsey as a CAM in 11/12. Wilshere and Ramsey were supposed to replace Cesc and Nasri.

Wilshere got injured, which led to the Arteta signing.

Ramsey was so awful that season that Alex Song had to play as a B2B and it wasn't until Rosicky returned to play as a CAM that we went into a winning run.

By all means, Ramsey is a 4-3-3 player.

Emery has his work cut out if he wants to build complementary and effective midfield here (with the players we have). We have very lopsided and incompatible midfielders at the club.

like I said i'd be happy with 4-3-3 if we have a DM inbetween them with either Wilshere and Ramsey either side or Seri and Ramsey either side, I just think having Wilshere in that position makes more sense and getting a beast of a DM rather than trying to upgrade a position that does not need upgrading.

Plenty more holes in the team that need a upgrade, Jack and Rambo are not one of them.

We need 1/2 GKs, 2 CBS, 1 DM.

Attacking midfielders and wingers are unnecessary luxury signings and force us to constantly rotate.

I'd rather have a midfield of...

Wilshere--New DM--Ramsey with Niles, Willock, Elneny rotating as squad players.

I just read a article that says Seri is only a option if Ramsey is sold (if he refuses new contract).

Sigh of relief there because we would have had the weakest midfield in England and we are trying to bolster up with stronger players.

Which leads me to think we may pursue the Dembele loan and play 4-2-3-1.

Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri wants to move to England in the summer, and both Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing the 26-year-old Ivorian. (L'Equipe via TalkSport)

Torreira is more suited to our needs because he can actually tackle, Seri is a attacking midfielder like Ramsey with better playmaking skills.
