Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

Three things stand in the way of this happening imo:

1. How we finish the season
2. Real Madrid or PSG
3. Our summer budget

I believe in that order. This is one of those deals where we need to act quickly before the vultures start circling but we are not in any position to do that atm. If I were the club, I’d have at least three other names because oblak doesn’t look realistic at least not now

Aubameyang didn't sound realistic too a few weeks ago, but we got him.
Maybe the circumstances will be suitable then to get Oblak as well.
I'm optimistic with Sven and Raul in charge of tje transfers.

That’s true. Although, I was thinking that the teams we’d 100% lose out to in a bidding war had their sights set on a better option or simply had no need for Aubameyang. Could even argue that some could not afford him given the timing. Again, it’s very possible that we can get Oblak under similar circumstances but I just can’t see us being so fortunate again. More teams who we have no chance against in a bidding war will have more funds to spend again/be more active and this will push us further down the pecking order for Oblak’s services. I’m pretty sure the two teams I listed will be looking for a keeper in the summer and I can see them having a huge say in what we do wrt this position.
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Can't argue with that. I would also be happy with other options, the leftovers of PSG and Real Madrid. I think Real Madrid will focus on De Gea. PSG could be buying Oblak, but also could be trying to buy Donarumma. I hope we get lucky with some keeper of this caliber being available to us.
if not, I would also be happy with a promising keeper like Lafont.

I want Arsenal to be the team that others are worried about when we decide to get players.

I want us to be the team with the financial power to buy the player when we want them without having to worry about someone else outbid us.

As long as Korenke is the owner, that is never going to happen.

Usmanov, save us!

Go for the Simeone + Oblak bundle.

If we don't get Oblak it means a quality keeper at another top team will be on the move, no big deal.

Areola from PSG would be a good gamble imo, otherwise there are plenty of prospects in Italy/Germany should we fail to get the big one.

Dunno not seen too much tbh but when I have he's looked pretty good now they've finally given him a chance. Usually in CL is the only time I see PSG, so if he can perform on that stage I'd expect him to be doing the same every week.

YES. we'd be sorted for years, no learning curve needed.

Him, a cheeky under the radar 6ft1 minimum athletic and pacey DM and 2 CBs (top class and up and comer) is the priority.

We need to be proactive ie starting talks now so at least 1 is wrapped up by june.

We need to get serious.

Double that and it still probably wouldn't be enough.

I think we're also at the point where we can't afford to not have a world class goalkeeper if we want to compete again. Look at the goalkeepers our rivals have - de Gea, Lloris, Ederson, Courtois - they are all markedly better than Cech or Ospina. Only Liverpool have worse options than us right now.

IF and its a big IF PSG dont try and tempt him, I think we can get him. Real, PSG and us lot can do with a decent keeper.
