Cripps won't be happy you beat him to this.

And Southampton players are never cheap, Williams who's the same age just went for 12M and Fonte just won the euros so we're looking at 20M+.

Southampton have offered captain Jose Fonte a new contract as they look to ward off interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

Let's hope United does not divert its attention to Mustafi.

It looks like Chelsea's backup plan to Koulibaly could be Maksimovic, btw, so hopefully no danger there for now.

I'd prefer Mustafi but Fonte would still be a very good signing. One of the better centre-backs in the league.

Stop gap signing.

He will be 33 in December.

If we don't get mustafi I don't mind fonte he was very good in the euros and for Southampton his experience will be very valuable

Fonte would be a better option than mustafi imo. Proven in the premier league, offers height and experience. More of a leader and being in his 30s buys more time for one of cal, rob and krys to come through.
