Boateng's about the closest you'll get to a top drawer black CB, there really does seem an odd correlation there. He's still a bit of a pace merchant but has much more about his game than most.

If mustafi is going to cost €50m should we pay a bit extra and bid for this guy?

If we have '300m' in the bank wouldn't it make more sense to go all out for the best centre back available?

Indeed it would, one has to assume the '£300mill' line is more bullshit.

Napoli rejected a bid of around €58 million from Chelsea for defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the final days of the transfer window, president Aurelio de Laurentiis has claimed.

Koulibaly is a physically dominating player but he sometimes tends to make mistakes due to lack of concentration.
