A few weeks ago it was reported that Barcelona are only interested in negotiating a permanent deal, which we, allegedly, are unwilling/unable to carry out for financial reasons.

If true it's a shit load of wasted time and effort but it seems like both Barca and Suarez were being difficult. Whilst I do want him here and think he'd be a success, obligation to buy deals are terrible business so maybe it's for the best.
