tell me what should they do with the money? Keep it and hope in the future some great talent comes through? Dembele together with Mbappe is seen as the most talented young attacker in the world. The money is there.......when someone gives you over 200 million and the other side know you have to spend it in 2-3 weeks. You dont have much choice. I would have spent that kind of money on Dembele if the club had it. Its either that or keep the money in the bank. I dont believe buying 4-5 40 million player is better investment
It's because of their sanctimonious attitude while simultaneously going to the papers and having their players unsettle targets. This summer has been great watching them squirm by getting mugged off by club after club around Europe.
Dortmund didn't have to sell. Dembele recently signed a long-term contract with them, so he had little bargaining power, especially in a World Cup year. Liverpool showed that money isn't everything with so little time left. Now Barca's problem is Dortmund's: they have a ton of cash with little time to replace a player, and other clubs know that. Stupid move on Dortmund's part imo, but they did well to swindle Barca.
The move will be great for the U.S. national team though because Pulisic will get more game time at Dortmund.
