All their signings and we can't get Lemar? Shameful.

PSG manage to take a dump on both Barca and RM in the same transfer window.

Spain might declare a war on France and Arabs.

How do you rationalize spending €180m on an 18-year-old who's only played six months of senior-level football?

High risk/high reward move for a player that could be the next big thing like Messi or Ronaldo.

If he pans out, he becomes unsellable like Messi or Ronaldo.. He will either result in trophies which they are after or if they do decide to sell, they will recoup that money and more. Win/win either ways.

If he doesnt pan out....oh well, there's more money where that came from.

That's the kind of money they have to spend if they want to lure him away from RM or Barca because RM and Barca have that kind of funds and will spend it on a player like Kylian.

If they get him then surely they'll have to sell a few players?

They are operating with a different mindset to us .... when you have a potential to increase your annual income from 578m to over 1,000m then spending some 500m in a single transfer window is just one gigantic gamble ... but let's think about how big that gamble is .....

Two years ago PSG had an income of less than 300m per annum ... so they've nearly doubled that in just two years ... they had a wages budget of 110m that's now increased to about the same as ours at 220m (and that's obviously going to increase further with Neymar and Mbappe) yet still well within FFP salary rules ....

They are gambling (with other people's money) that revenues from TV, Sponsorship, Marketing will continue to increase and that in fact just like Barcelona, RM, City, Chelsea, BM and Utd before them, that a massive transfer spend will propel them to the top of their domestic league (no big challenge) and make them serious challengers in the CL

Does anyone here want to bet the football club that they are wrong ?????

Of course for us and clubs like us who put 'balancing the books' far ahead of buying 100m dollar players ... the danger is that the likes of Barca, BM, RM, City, Utd, Chelski and now PSG will just leave us trailing a long way behind ...

Beliefs? Principles? Doing it my way? can we truly afford to still play that tune?

Say what you like about spending €180m, but in a few years they will have the two of the best players on the planet for their peak years... that is invaluable

Of course we cant afford to play the same tune, you can see that by looking at us ever since 2005 to now. We are already waaaaay behind. FA cups dont really play a part in it, even Dortmund won their cup last season, but they are still falling well below Bayern.

If Mbappe pans out it will be considered a steal a few years from now. Investments are a risk.. but it's how you move forward.
