At 40-50 million with one year left it’s a ripoff.

He’s worth 25-30 million tops.

We sold Ox for 40 mil some eight years back.

He had years left on his contract though.

Also I think transfer prices have stabilised a bit since the pandemic overall.

Also how are you suppose to close the gap on teams above if you buy vastly inferior players, which Jesus clearly is, his goal record for a City team that create a shedload of chances isn’t particularly good.

As for Kane and Haaland, City only go for the best, the point is since they lost Aguero they’ve been looking for a quality replacement, clearly Jesus isn’t that and never has been.

Plus we need someone better than 15-20 goals, think we need someone like Aubameyang who can score more than that.
We overpay for players like Pepe and White so buying City reject Gabriel Jesus us business as usual.

I like Haaland but i dont rate him on the same level as Mbappe. He has everything you need to be a world class striker like Kane but dosen't have the magic level technique like Mbappe has to svore from anywhere vs anyone. His team has to be playung well for him to dominate.

Norway would be in the World Cup and a force if he was really that good.

Haaland really is a more tidy younger version of Lukaku. The ball dosent bounce off him like Lukaku who has no technique, but it dont stuck to him like Mbappe or Lewandowski.

Haaland is better than Werner but be warned. Werner has flopped in the Premier League because unlike in Germany you dont get so much space to do what you want like you do in Germany.

I think if Haaland is humble and paitent he can be a succeds at City but he will find it hard at first if he adapts he can be a force.

Yes we do you’re right, just haven’t been impressed with Jesus.

No he’s not an Mbappe, he’s more of a goal poacher, but his goal record is fantastic at all level including the CL.

Don’t forget Salah came from Germany as well and he’s scored a lot of goals, some players make the transition and I think goalscoring wise he’s a special talent, the sheer amount of goals is testament to that.

It might take him a bit of time to adapt but I don’t doubt he’ll score plenty of goals for them, it’s hard not to.

Salah came from Germany...

My mistake sorry I was thinking of De Bruyne.

But Aubameyang came from Germany and Dortmund and scored a lot, Son also came from the Bundesligue.

Nunez would be a good option if more expensive.

I don't think we have a chance of signing Martinez at that price. Inter sold Lukkau for over £100m so they'd probably look for a similar amount for Martinez.

Good strikers at £50m or less won't be easy to find and especially the type we'll need. It's like looking for a unicorn.

I’d prefer us to spend a bit more than 50 million to get the right player, rather than spend 40-50 million on a player who isn’t all that amazing personally.

Martinez would probably cost a bit more but I’m not sure he’s cost Lukaku money, I maybe wrong though.

There’s Nunez as well and Schick.

I’m just not convinced with Jesus and his ability to score lots of goals.

Jesus is only underwhelming if he's the first choice striker. I'd imagine he would be otherwise he wouldn't come here but if the deal was closer to 30m then I'd definitely take the gamble, he was amazing in Brazil and has shown the same at times for City when actually playing CF for a consistent run.

Not a game changing signing but a decent gamble at the right price.

I agree with this, if he’s second choice fine, but like you I suspect he’ll be first choice and he’s going to cost something around 50 million which is way too much, especially as he has a year left and City don’t want him.

30 million is Ok but the figures we’re hearing aren’t.

Forget all that crap about other prices and lengths of contracts remaining, if a player becomes available like Jesus then you get him, whatever the cost....if you can afford him. If you do want to look at comparisions, look no further thatn Pepe, White, Grealish, Pogba, Lukaku etc.

I can see he won’t be a particularly popular signing, any player who can’t score a hatful in that City team is lacking something.

True. They have more technique than Haaland does which is the key for me.

For example Haaland is better than Patrick Schlick and scored more goals this season i think but Schlick is better technically than Halland and woyld suit City better. In how they play.

Problem is im not sure Schilick is an upgrade on Jesus in the first place. Id take Schlick at Arsenal as hes like Giroud just nowhere near as slow thankfully.

Only by the internet trolls.

Normal fans I come across in real life are happy with him.

He's literally the cheapest player they have. £27m in 2017.

Expectations will be completely different if we have to spend £50m on him. See Pepe.

With no CL likely, I would go ahead and lock him up at 50m if it means we get him at the beginning of summer. My biggest fear is that we go after someone who is luke warm on us and it drags all summer.

Arteta loves goalscoring wingers yet we aren't in for Sterling or Mahrez who bang them in.

Imagine this guy in the center of the box coming in to meet a Martinelli cross. Can't imagine it? Yeah neither can I, because Jesus is a tap-in merchant, the type we have failed to do anything with.
